Bands became louder and it became harder for musicians to pick-up their acoustic instruments by microphone without feedback. It seemed the easiest solution to build the pick-up directly into the guitar. A non-covered P-90 was mounted onto the top at the end of the fret-board. The result sounded like a hollow-body instead of like an acoustic guitar. However, John Lennon and George Harrison were thankful consumers. Epiphone also pays tribute to these legendary models and builds them nearly true to original.
